The management of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute-LETI has commiserated with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority-LASTMA on the death of one of its officer (Akinmade) knocked down by an errant driver.
In a statement issued by the Director General of LETI, Prince Ifalade Oyekan, the Institute condemned the attitude of motorists towards Law Enforcement Officers.
Prince Oyekan said the attitude of feeling the life of a Law Enforcement Officer is not worth the care is inimical to the sustenance of law and order in our society.
Ifalade wished the full weight of the Law should be meted on the driver for the behavior, saying, "the thinking that the life of Law Enforcement Officers is not worth the care has to stop and I hope the Lagos State Government will ensure the errant driver feel the full weight of the Law".
He admonished vehicle drivers to drive carefully and commiserated with the family of the deceased officer while praying that God will give them the fortitude to beat the irreplaceable loss.
