The Federal Character Commissioner representing Lagos Hon. Abdulwasiu Kayode Bawa-Allah has tasked men and Officers of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Agencies attending the Year 2020 In-service Training of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute to ensure Federal Character in their disposition at all times.
While addressing Officers at the 17th Batch of this year's training, Hon. Bawa-Allah listed the mandate of the commission stating that the present administration under the leadership of President Muhamadu Buhari GCFR is committed to ensuring fair and equitable distribution of the commonwealth of the Nation both in terms of opportunities and infrastructures across the states of the federation.
The Commissioner also advised the participants to ensure fairness in the disposal of their tasks and duties as Law Enforcement Officers, while also admonishing them to keep this in mind in the allocation of responsibilities and opportunities as they rise through the ranks.
He affirmed the commitment of the President to the unity of Nigeria.
In his response, the DG of LETI Prince Ifalade Oyekan thanked the Honourable Commissioner for his visit, saying, "this will further boost the morale of the Officers and spur them to behave as good citizens.
Prince Ifalade also requested that the commission make available soft copies of the Federal Character Commission Law for the virtual libraries of the Institute, while requesting for more enlightenment engagements for the Law enforcers.
Prince Oyekan later presented the Honourable Commissioner with the new modules of the Courses as souvenir and library materials haven explained the rationale behind the separation of the Courses offered by the Officers which he said was developed to meet their direct tasks and responsibilities as an individual Agency, which most of the time have different responsibilities.
